St Luke’s Academy have had a busy week building up to World book day on Thursday 7th March. Various activities were given out during tutor time for pupils to complete, all based around the love of reading and words. For example: word search on ‘I love reading’ and Book Choice Bistro building (creating a menu about books, to choose to read).

KS3 were taken to various book shops in town to choose their own books. They were so excited; some have already read most of one book already!

The school held a competition, for pupils to draw their best top hats & Mr Potato head faces – Winners are Tyler T, Harvey & Ashley.

During lessons on Thursday, KS3 spent the day creating various fantastic Mr Potato head models. This gave the pupils an opportunity to listen to various book extracts, discuss their own books, whilst creating their designs.  Winners are Tazmin, Connor & Meilyr
