PSHE stands for Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education. At St Luke’s Academy, we cover a wide range of topics that come under the umbrella of PSHE. We believe that PSHE is paramount in educating and nurturing the whole child within a safe, supportive and respectful environment.
Our pupils are encouraged to feel happy and confident in sharing their views, while developing the ability to listen to and consider different perspectives. This is particularly valuable for students who may have had limited developmental opportunities in previous educational or home environments.
Our PSHE curriculum is age-appropriate and develops as pupils progress through Years 7–11, supporting them to take increasing responsibility for their personal, social and health needs while preparing them for life within their community and wider society. Through PSHE, we endeavour to ensure that every pupil leaves St Luke’s Academy with the knowledge, confidence, resilience and life skills needed to make informed decisions, take responsibility for themselves and contribute positively to their community and society.
